This web-portal presents a number of sources of information that may be of use
to those preparing a Socio-economic Analysis (SEA) under the REACH Regulation. It is hosted by VITO for the European Chemical's Agency.
Search for data sources
When choosing the link ‘QUERY DATABASE’ in the left-hand side menu, you can
perform a search on the basis of category, keywords, or full text. The
information sources have been divided into three key categories:
- Markets and alternatives: sources on the value of
markets, structure of supply chains and the technical and socioeconomic
characteristics of alternatives;
- Human health impacts: sources to support the
identification and valuation of costs and benefits to human health from a
potential restriction;
- Environmental impacts: sources to support the
identification and valuation of costs and benefits to the environment from a
potential restriction.
The queries show (a) the name and description of each source; (b) the types of
information that the user may find therein; (c) the coverage and applicability
of each source (for example, a particular Member State); (d) the cost of
obtaining the information held in this source; and (e) the limitations of each
source, if any.
